Where Did You Give Your Power Away This Week?
✨ Sacred Sunday Slowdown ✨
Good morning lovely,
The other day, I caught myself doing something I've done more times than I can count.
I was about to say yes.
Not because I wanted to.
Not because I had the capacity.
Simply because it felt easier than disappointing someone.
I paused.
Took a breath.
And quietly asked myself,
"Is this actually what I want?"
The answer came almost immediately.
No.
It wasn't a dramatic moment.
No one was yelling.
No big life decision was being made.
It was a small, ordinary choice.
And yet, those ordinary choices are often where our power quietly slips away.
When we hear the word sovereignty, many of us think of kings, queens, governments, or political power.
But that's never been the kind of sovereignty that has interested me.
I'm interested in the kind that asks a much more personal question:
Who is leading your life?
The sovereignty I work with and teach is learning how to trust yourself.
To honor what you know to be true.
To make decisions that are aligned with who you are becoming instead of who you've been conditioned to be.
And most of the time, we don't lose that power in one dramatic event.
We hand it away in small moments. For me, this lasted over a decade until I realized I had slowly given all of my power away.
It happens when we say yes instead of no.
When we wait for permission.
When we ignore the quiet voice of our intuition because someone else's opinion feels louder and it feels easier to just give in.
When we convince ourselves that someday, when the timing is perfect, we'll finally begin.

One of the things I've learned is that sovereignty isn't about becoming louder.
It's about becoming clearer.
Leo season often gets associated with confidence, boldness, and being seen.
But I've always thought of the lion a little differently.
A lion doesn't need to convince anyone of its strength.
It simply knows it.
There's no performance.
No proving.
Just presence.
I think that's the kind of confidence many of us are actually longing for.
Last month, we spent time learning to listen to our emotions instead of fighting them.
To understand what they were asking of us.
This month is a natural next step.
Once you can hear yourself...
Can you trust what you hear?
Can you make decisions from that place?
Can you choose yourself—not at the expense of others, but in honor of the life you're here to live?
🌿 This Week's Sacred Sunday Ritual
Take your journal somewhere quiet.
Place one hand on your heart.
Take five slow breaths.
Then ask yourself:
Where have I been giving my power away?
Don't look for the dramatic answer.
Notice the ordinary moments.
The conversation where you stayed quiet.
The commitment you made even though your body said no.
The dream you've been postponing while waiting for the "right" time.
Simply notice.
Awareness isn't judgment.
It's the first step toward choice.
As we begin this new month together, I hope you'll remember this:
Sovereignty isn't something you earn.
It isn't something someone else gives you.
It's something you practice.
One choice.
One boundary.
One honest conversation.
One courageous breath at a time.
With gratitude,
Megan
