What If They Misunderstand You?
✨ Sacred Sunday Slowdown: Taking Up Space Anyway ✨
Hi lovely,
Lately I've been stretching myself in new ways.
I've been posting more "off the mat" content.
Sharing more personal stories.
Talking less about what I've learned from books and trainings and more about what I've actually lived.
And if I'm being honest?
It's uncomfortable.
Not because I don't know what I'm talking about.
But because sharing lived experience feels far more vulnerable than sharing information.
Information can be debated.
Data can be cited.
But your story?
Your story is personal.
And once it's out there, people get to interpret it however they want.
I've been misunderstood for most of my life.
So there is a part of me that still worries:
What if people judge me?
What if they criticize me?
What if they think I'm wrong?
Maybe you know that feeling too.

☀️ The Solstice Invitation
As we move closer to the Summer Solstice, nature is approaching its fullest expression of light.
Nothing is hiding.
The flowers don't wait until they're perfect to bloom.
The birds don't wait until they're experts before they sing.
Nature simply expresses itself.
And I wonder how often we hold ourselves back waiting for certainty.
Waiting until we're sure we'll be understood.
Waiting until we're sure we'll get it right.
Waiting until we're sure no one will disagree.
The problem is that moment never comes.
🧠 A Nervous System Reframe
The fear of being seen isn't a character flaw.
It's biology.
Human beings are wired for belonging.
Our nervous systems naturally want acceptance from the group.
Which means sharing something authentic can feel risky.
Not because you're doing something wrong.
Because you're doing something real.
And real things are vulnerable.
🌿 Sacred Sunday Ritual: Taking Up Space
This week, I invite you into a simple practice.
Find a quiet place and take a few slow breaths.
Then journal on these questions:
Where am I hiding behind what I know instead of sharing what I've lived?
What part of myself am I afraid to let people see?
What would become possible if I stopped waiting for everyone's approval?
Take your time.
Be honest.
No one else has to read it.
Then choose one small act of visibility this week.
Not a leap.
A step.
Maybe it's sharing your opinion.
Maybe it's asking for what you need.
Maybe it's posting something meaningful.
Maybe it's telling the truth about how you're feeling.
One small act.
One signal to your nervous system that you can be seen and still be safe.
🌸 A Gentle Reminder
Not everyone will understand you.
Not everyone will agree with you.
Not everyone will see your heart the way you intend.
And that's okay.
Your job isn't to be perfectly understood.
Your job is to be authentically expressed.
The Summer Solstice reminds us that there comes a time to stop hiding and start shining.
Not because you've become perfect.
But because you've become willing.
This week, let yourself take up a little more space.
The people who need your light can't find you if you're hiding it.
With care,
Megan
