✨ Sacred Sunday Slowdown: The Equinox Reset ✨
Hi lovely,
We just crossed a threshold.
The equinox marks a rare moment of balance—
equal light, equal dark.
Day and night meeting in the middle.
And while the calendar tried to rush us into a new year months ago,
this… this is the kind of beginning your body actually understands.
Not forced.
Not rushed.
But naturally arising.
🌗 A Nervous System Perspective on the Equinox
Your nervous system is constantly orienting to light.
As daylight increases, your brain begins to shift:
-
cortisol rises earlier in the day
-
melatonin decreases sooner
-
energy begins to mobilize again
But here’s the important part:
We’re still in the transition.
This moment isn’t about full activation.
It’s about balance before momentum.
Too much push right now can feel like anxiety.
Too much stillness can feel like stagnation.
The equinox invites something more nuanced:
regulated movement.
🌿 From Cocoon to Emergence
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been honoring winter—
rest, cocooning, slowing down, protecting your energy.
Now, something begins to shift.
Not a full bloom.
Not a sprint forward.
More like:
a stretch,
a breath of fresh air,
a gentle leaning toward what’s next.
You don’t have to leap into action.
But you may feel ready to re-engage… slowly.
🌬️ Sacred Sunday Ritual: The Balance & Begin Again Practice
This ritual is about aligning with the energy of the equinox—
not forcing growth, but allowing it.
Take 10–15 minutes.
1. Find Your Balance (2–3 minutes)
Sit comfortably.
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly.
Close your eyes.
Notice:
your inhale…
your exhale…
Let them become equal in length.
Balanced breath = balanced nervous system.
2. Reflect on Both Sides (5 minutes)
Journal or reflect on:
What am I ready to leave in winter?
(rest, habits, patterns, beliefs)
What feels ready to emerge this spring?
(energy, ideas, desires, direction)
No pressure to act—just notice.
3. Choose One Gentle Step
Ask yourself:
What is one small way I can meet this new energy—without overwhelming my system?
Examples:
-
opening your day with light instead of your phone
-
moving your body for 5 minutes
-
reaching out to someone
-
beginning something without needing to finish it
Small is sustainable.
Small is how the nervous system builds trust.
4. Seal It with Intention
Place both hands over your heart and say:
I don’t have to rush this beginning.
I can grow at a pace that feels safe.
Take one deep breath in.
Slow exhale out.
🌸 A New Kind of Beginning
The equinox doesn’t demand a new version of you.
It simply offers a doorway:
from rest → into movement
from inward → into outward
from holding → into becoming
And you get to walk through it slowly.
With care and steady emergence,
Megan
