The Light Has Risen—Now What Will You Illuminate?
The wheel of the year turns again, and we arrive at the Summer Solstice—a sacred threshold where light is at its fullest, and the Earth pulses with ripe, radiant life.
Can you feel it?
The fire in the sky is not just a celestial event—it’s a mirror of your own inner flame, it activates your Manipura chakra, the dwelling place of action. This is a day to honor what is blooming within you. What prayers have taken root? What parts of you are finally ready to be seen?
But the solstice is not just about celebration. It’s also a reckoning.
This turning point isn’t just a celebration of abundance. It’s a crossroads. From here, the light begins to wane. The Earth reminds us: all growth has a cycle. Even expansion must return to stillness.
Because as the light reaches its peak, the turning begins. From here, the days will slowly shorten. And so the invitation is this: What will you do with your light while you have it? What will you burn away? What will you devote yourself to with the fullness of your being?
What will you do to find alignment, to expand your being, and dive into the flow of abundance and manifestation?
It’s not enough to just think about it … you have to do something. And summer is the time of action.
What will you do?
In my Earth Medicine Yoga practice this morning, I laid in stillness on the warm ground, breath synced with the heartbeat of the soil, listening. The message came through clearly:
Let it be sacred. Let it be simple. Let it be yours.
May this solstice meet you in truth. May you feel your fire. May you choose devotion over distraction.
So today, I offer you this:
A simple, sacred Earth Medicine Yoga Ritual to honor the light, the letting go, and the beauty of your becoming.
🌞 Summer Solstice Ritual: Igniting the Sacred Fire
Time: Sunset or golden hour
Location: Outside, barefoot if possible
You will need:
-
A candle or small fire-safe bowl
-
A journal and pen
-
A plant, flower, or crystal to anchor your intention
-
Optional: Palo Santo or your favorite cleansing herb
1. Ground.
Step barefoot onto the Earth. Close your eyes. Breathe down into your feet. Let your spine lengthen as if kissed by the sun. Place one hand on your belly, the other on your heart. Whisper: I am here. I am home.
2. Cleanse.
Use Palo Santo or smoke to clear the space around you. Let the old stories, the fatigue, the burnout, the “not enough” fall away. Offer it to the wind.
3. Ignite.
Light your candle. Watch the flame. Let it represent your sacred fire. The part of you that’s ready to be seen, known, and honored. Breathe slowly and fully, allowing the light to reflect back your own power.
4. Move.
Flow through 3-5 gentle side body stretches or sun salutes. Inhale to reach. Exhale to bow. Keep it intuitive. Let movement become prayer.
5. Write.
In your journal, reflect on:
-
What within me is ready to be illuminated?
-
What have I outgrown that must be burned away?
-
How can I live in devotion to my light without burning out?
6. Anchor.
Place your crystal, flower, or sacred object beside the candle. Let it absorb the energy of your intention. Keep it nearby in the coming weeks as a reminder of your Solstice vow.
✨ This is a moment to remember your radiance. To listen to your fire without rushing it. To come back to a devotion that sustains you.
I’ll be guiding a longer Earth Medicine Yoga practice soon. But for now, let this be enough. Let it be sacred. Let it be yours
In light, shadow, and sacred reciprocity,
Megan
